I was shocked and appalled at the editorial cartoon, depicting the Tea Party representative attempting to change Congress' "wicked, Godless ways."
The cartoonist’s rendition of Congress’ status quo as a prostitute is similar to those throughout the media and their party’s own Web pages belittling our elected representatives and government workers.
Running this caricature, demeaning the “gub’mint,” at a time that a federal judge, a nine-year old girl, and four other Americans lie dead, and congressional Rep. Gabrielle Giffords lies on the brink of death with a bullet in her head, is odious.
The murderer was fueled by the rhetoric of the Tea Party. Their proponents delight in using phrases such as “targeting” political opponents — with politicians in the cross-hairs of a rifle scope in their advertisements. They, “the people” use anti-government oratory to “take back this country.” From what? From constitutional government? From people electing officials to run the country? From judges and government staff carrying out the will of their elected government and voter initiative?
Never miss a local story.
No! They are just minions of their masters.
Sarah Palin advocated putting a photo of Giffords in a gun sight, and Giffords was shot. Osama bin Laden advocated violence, and he’s termed a “terrorist.”
There is little difference between the two conservative groups in their hatred of American government.
Let’s round up the tea party supporters and send them to Guantanamo where they belong.
