Sarah Palin and other conservatives are being blamed for the vicious attack in Tucson. Hundreds of bloggers have commented on Palin's map of 20 congressional districts that were targeted by the Tea Party in the November election. So, with her "targeting" the district that Rep. Gabrielle Giffords represented, it can logically be presumed that Palin is responsible for the killings that occurred.
CBS and commentators on MSNBC have been quick to impugn conservative talk show hosts and political pundits for their so-called right-wing rhetoric and hatred for government as being a reason also.
I wonder why we don’t hear about left-wing folks as much?
The Daily Kos’ founder stated in 2008 that Giffords had a target on her back as one of the “bad apple” Democrats. Two days before the shooting, The Daily Kos posted a letter from a disgruntled supporter that Giffords was “dead to me” because of her recent vote against Nancy Pelosi as speaker. Barack Obama stated in a speech that “if they bring a knife, you bring a gun.”
Van Jones, Frances Piven, and other left-wing activists, continually call for violence to further their agenda. Did you know the shooter “leaned left?” Will there be “Today” show coverage of their rhetoric or that news?
I think intelligent people can agree that there is enough hyperbole to go around. Perhaps we should put our faith and hope in something other than government and then, perhaps, we can live our lives in peace.
