How can we stop this proposal to combine all levels of education into one department under an appointed secretary?
The thought of such a mediocre governor as we now have or any governor presiding over this massive grouping is frightening. Removing an elected official with a specific responsibility for an appointed secretary with diverse responsibilities? My experience says it is a disaster.
I have a degree in secondary education and taught at community colleges in the state for a number of years. I have attended a number of local school board meetings and community college board meetings in this state. I have been a member of the Seattle Community College faculty salary negotiating team.
I have had limited experience lobbying the state Legislature on college teachers’ issues.
Never miss a local story.
Elective accountability must be preserved where ever it exists.
Who can gain from this change? Not the voters. Not the taxpayers.
