Dr. Steve Langer was appointed to the Olympia City Council last year, and as folks who often watch council meetings on Channel 3 Tuesday evenings, we feel heartened that he has decided to seek a 4-year term in the coming election.
Langer’s many goals include fostering downtown revitalization and, to that end, addressing public safety issues so that all of us can feel safer there, regardless of the hour. He also will continue his long-time work on water quality issues which affect us locally and in Puget Sound.
During his 10-month tenure, Langer’s presence seems to have promoted a heightened civility at our City Council deliberations, perhaps because of his background as a licensed psychologist/therapist.
He is a grown-up. He exudes integrity and decency. He is thoughtful, keenly smart, and he takes his council work very seriously. In short, he gives Olympians incredible bang for our bucks.
Never miss a local story.
Check him and the rest of your City Council out some Tuesday night soon, and we think you’ll see why we are so impressed with Steve Langer.
