Parents fighting tooth and nail to get their 2-year-old into a prestige day care, so he can make it into the top-notch pre-school, so he will be admitted to the glamour private school so he can make it into Harvard Law 18 years in the future, because that’s where all the winners come from. It has little to do with education.
Lawyers. Their job is not to create a just society. No, they’re taught how win for their side. Prosecutor or defense, it makes no difference. Let’s not pretend we have a system of justice. What we have is a legal game of playing to win.
And so, as in sports, education and law, so too in politics. Again, don’t be fooled into thinking we have a government for the people. Our Supreme Court anoints corporations run amok as persons. Corporations 1 — People 0.
