I had been putting off going to the library to research an Olympian article from a few years ago about hip replacements. I didn't want to look like a doofus in front of the library staff.
Using equipment has never been easy for me and at my mature age I didn’t want to have a temper tantrum in front of a crowd. I finally went to the Olympia Timberland Library and was pleasantly surprised.
Not only did the woman on the reference desk give me her full attention, explain and demonstrate how to use the machine reader, she didn’t get irritated when I had to call her back time after time.
I found the article, printed it and thanked her effusively.
Never miss a local story.
The only negative aspect of the experience was the crowded conditions of the library and the need for more staff.
Our library needs to be replaced with a building and staff twice this size. Let me know if there is a fund I can contribute to.
