As the expression says, it's interesting times we live in. The American worker is finally waking up and it took people in Egypt, demonstrating for a better life, to make this happen.
Wisconsin workers protesting benefits and job loss?
Of course, the average person might ask “Are they nuts?”
They are not. They are very much awake.
Never miss a local story.
This unrest has been coming down the pike for many years. Many years of people, especially in the private sector, having their pensions stolen from them, due to our ever-wonderful, “Protect the CEOs and the heck with the workers” philosophy. Bankruptcy laws are in place. Now it is spilling over to public sector workers. After this, retirees from the federal government sector, both civilian and military, are the next target.
I love my country and I say that as a veteran of military service, 1972-1975. Sadly today, we have been forced to have “God” taken from school.
Remember “one nation under God?”
Wall Street executives are given a break for contributing to this mess. The Air Force wants to give France a contract for the tanker? Last time I looked, the first two words of Air Force started with United States.
These are just a few of the spokes in the wheel that has American workers upset. If my senator or congressman ever tells me, “You’re lucky to have a job,” my response will be, “With you for leadership, you are right.”
Wisconsin is fighting for all of us.
