I'm angry. A short while ago, a double roll of bathroom tissue had 352 sheets per roll, now it has 300. In a 12-roll pack that means we are paying the same price for 624 fewer sheets (more than 2 rolls).
The coffee distributors got away with this a number of years ago, reducing the number of ounces in each formerly 3-pound can.
Now toilet tissue manufacturers are doing the same thing. The difference is that families – particularly those with children – need to know that a certain number of rolls will last for a certain approximate amount of time. Running out unexpectedly cannot be laughed off.
Why don’t manufacturers get real and just raise the price the way gas and oil distributors have? Americans now pay more for gas – not 3/4 or 4/5 of a gallon, and we have been able to handle it.
Never miss a local story.
Wake up manufacturers – you have no problem telling us if the size goes up; now admit it if you have reduced the size.
