So give me a straight answer. I read in The Olympian about the budget and that there is no money and that spending is going to be rolled back to 2008 levels which is fine.
But if there is no money then why is it that I also read that the federal government is looking to give more tax cuts to corporations? Isn’t there “no money?”
Two-thirds of the corporations in this country do not pay taxes. Apparently, that is not enough, they need more.
I heard a politician on the news state that the federal government does not create jobs. Really? So what was that large tax break the top 2 percent of the people in the United States got to be used for – a really nice vacation?
And still I hear there is “no money.”
If someone comes up with an alternative program that you do not like you give it big nasty names that are supposed to scare other people in believing you have all the answers. Politicians must stop putting party before people and solve the problems.
Regardless of the label you want to give it, United States citizens, regardless of age, want a program that they can plan their futures on. They don’t want to have to wonder how they are going to get on day by day.
Or as a picture I recently saw in the paper is it going to be changed from, “We the people” to “We the corporation.”
