What on earth does a person have to do to get a county office to look into an open septic system?
I have made numerous phone calls to various county offices, only to be told that “We don’t handle that type of thing.”
I have gone into the City of Lacey offices, and been told that it is a county problem.
When a person uncovers their septic tank to be pumped or inspected, it needs to be covered back up for the system to work properly. When there is an open hole, over the septic tank, there’s a health issue. When there are bubbles coming from that hole, when it’s filled to ground level in the rain, there’s a health issue.
But, if there’s no person in the county who actually has that job description, I guess there’s no health issue. I suppose if they can’t see it, or smell it from their house, it isn’t really there?
