I write in reference to Diane Sosnes' column on that it's better to be a chicken than needy person in this state.
I’m a mental health professional working in Pierce County. Because of the budget cuts, I have heard more people say, “I’ll just go steal something and be put in jail. Then I’ll have food and shelter.” And most will do so repeatedly.
How smart is that? How smart is/are those chosen budget cuts? And how come we’re all of a sudden in such a deep hole where everything has to be cut now?
