After reading Eugene Robinson’s Jan. 22 column, I am convinced climate change is caused by Republicans. Obviously, since the earth’s warm-up that took place 56 million years ago and was quite similar to the one we face today, it, too, must have been caused by Republicans. To think Republicans inconsiderately caused all these rocks to be deposited in my yard from the melting glaciers that slid south millions of years ago! Don’t tell my Republican friends but I actually believe in climate change. It has happened for eons alternating between ice ages and warming trends. The amazing thing is that scientists who must know climate change is cyclical tell us that we, the people, cause, not contribute, to this problem. Politicians have picked up on this idea and constantly nag the American people about fossil fuels. Interestingly, between their frightening tirades, a famous politician spews tons of CO2 in the atmosphere on pleasure trips, to China, Mexico, South Africa, Hawaii, and India, not to mention trips across the United States sometimes causing heavy auto emissions from huge traffic tie-ups as he visits various cities. And he is not even a Republican.
