The April 15 guest column by Simon Conrad about sexual assault and questions for a community to talk about is excellent. Ms. Conrad and her agency, SafePlace, are doing excellent work in the area of sexual assault advocacy.
I am a mental health professional in the Accountablility and Restitution Center (the Thurston County correctional facility), and SafePlace, specifically Ms. Conrad, comes into the jail weekly and meets with inmates who are victims of sexual assault.
She, and her agency, have provided not only advocacy services, but also information, and other items for inmates. I would urge the community to support SafePlace and the excellent work they do.
