Doesn’t Washington state law forbid someone, a judge for instance, from performing the duties of a mental health triage nurse without a license?
And if someone dies because his hospital’s chief gets threatened with jail if she doesn’t give another patient priority, what will resulting settlement do for the state’s budget? And as taxpayers, our own?
Luckily, this is where contempt laws really can guarantee justice. The Washington State Legislature remains willfully in contempt of a court order to fund schools. So a single signature should assure there’s not a single cell available for Western State Hospital CEO Cheryl Strange.
Commissioner Adams, please enforce the law. Seeing to it that there’s one branch of government we the people do not justifiably hold in contempt.
