The Federal Way Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will hold its 31st annual banquet Saturday. This is a family event and youth (Greenwings) and couples are especially welcome.
A social hour, silent auction and raffle sales will begin at 5:30 p.m., with dinner following at 7 and a live auction at 8. The banquet will be held at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club, 3538 S.W. 320th St., Federal Way.
This is the chapter’s key fundraising event of the year. Funds generated from the banquet are used for wetlands habitat conservation and restoration. A local example of DU habitat restoration work is the recently completed opening of the dikes in the Nisqually River delta. Ducks Unlimited provided the earth-moving and excavating expertise in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Nisqually tribe. Over the years, Ducks Unlimited has spent more than $50 million on wetlands habitat projects in Washington state.
Single tickets are $70 (one dinner, one-year membership); couples $100 (two dinners, one membership); Greenwings (ages 17 and under) $30 (dinner and one-year membership); sponsors $285 (dinner, bronze sponsor-level membership); sponsor couples (two dinners, one bronze-level membership). A special sponsor-only raffle awards one prize for every five sponsors at the event.
Never miss a local story.
