A boating class, “About Boating Safely,” will be taught by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary on Saturday and April 2.
The class, with each session running four hours, is for the recreational boater. It will be held at the Puyallup Public Library, 324 S. Meridian Ave., Puyallup.
This course meets the requirements for the state’s boater education law. For the 2011 boating season, all boaters age 35 and under who wish to operate boats and personal watercraft are required to have a Boater Safety Education Card. Other age groups will be phased in until everyone has a card.
The class is designed to teach safe and enjoyable boating, presenting information to help boaters avoid problems on the water.
Never miss a local story.
The cost is $25 for the textbook and other materials.
