The Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group needs volunteers to help with its continued salmon recovery efforts and educational events,
For April, May and June, the group has several of projects in need of volunteers:
Smolt traps: Volunteers needed to assist with installation, removal and monitoring smolt traps daily from March 14 through June 7.
Native riparian plantings: The group is working to plant native species in riparian areas where invasive weeds have been treated.
Never miss a local story.
Educational events: Help with Harbor Wild Watchers, Environmental Explorations, GreenSTEMs and their community events, classroom support and workshops.
Office help: Volunteers to help around the office to answer phones, enter data, cleaning and inventory
Farm projects: Painting, construction and gardening. Sell produce at the Belfair Farmers Market.
