There is plenty of snow on the slopes but the ski season is winding down. This weekend is one of the last packed with events.
Saturday is the Holy Oly Revival at Summit East. The event is a celebration of Northwest snowboarding and includes snow sculptures, music and tons of snowboarding.
• The White Pass Film Festival is Saturday. Prizes will be awarded Saturday afternoon after the screening of films five minutes or shorter.
• Saturday also is the Schlittentag, a free homemade sled rave at Crystal Mountain. For more details, see Weekend Getaway on Page 19.
• In Eastern Washington, ski areas are preparing to close for the season. Skiing is free this weekend at 49 Degrees North before it closes for the season. Mount Spokane also closes Sunday afternoon. Ski Bluewood near Walla Walla ends its season Sunday with a massive party that includes a big-air competition, music, sumo wrestling, a beer garden and a Dummy Downhill.
• The National Weather Service is predicting partly cloudy skies today and Saturday with snow likely to return Sunday and Monday.
