For Nisqually River anglers, rain is a beautiful thing

• Published August 18, 2008

Most river anglers know that moisture in the air is a good thing.

Fishing already was starting to pick up in the Nisqually River Sunday for chinook salmon, according to the fellow who puts together our fishing report, Bob Brown. Now that we have rain, calling those fish up the river ... let's just say it's a good time to get down to the Nisqually River.

Tribal nets won't come out of the river until noon Wednesday, so Wednesday evening or Thursday morning is looking like an ideal time to get down to the Nisqually. Bring your green and black Corkies and yarn, and use a 4-foot leader, Brown says.

Bosses out there might brace for some phantom sicknesses coming on.
