A couple of notable items snatched from Bob Brown's fishing report that will be running in print Thursday:
Skate Creek, a fun little trout fishing getaway outside Packwood, recently got a a planting of three spring chinook and 78 coho adults. The salmon were released at the Skate Creek Bridge last week.
I used to fish this creek quite a bit several years ago and I couldn't imagine coming across a chinook salmon or large coho in that creek, though I've seen some lunker trout that had been planted. Especially under that bridge.
Someone is going to get the surprise of his or her life.
Bob also reports that at Horseshoe Lake in Woodland, the lake was planted on Sept. 9 with 1,966 rainbows averaging 1.5 pounds each and 497 fish averaging 3.3 pounds each.
