3 things to do this weekend
Clams
Saturday: A coastal razor clam dig — The last razor clam dig of the season — is happening at three coastal beaches.
Twin Harbors, Copalis and Mocrocks beaches will open for a morning-only dig. No clamming is allowed after noon.
The best digging starts about an hour before low tide. Low tide will be 9:58 a.m.
Clammers must keep the first 15 clams they dig.
All clammers age 15 or older must have an applicable 2008-09 fishing license. Licenses can be bought at http://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov, by calling 866-246-9453 or at more than 600 license vendors throughout the state. A list of vendors is available at http://wdfw.wa.gov/lic/vendors/vendors.htm.
Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge
Saturday and Sunday: Join a two-hour walk to learn more about wildlife on the refuge. The program is free, but there still is a $3 refuge entry fee. The group will meet at the Visitor Center flag pole at 1 p.m. both days. For more information, call 360-753-9467.
Last-chance skiing and boarding
Saturday, Sunday and Monday: The Summit at Snoqualmie will open the Alpental area of the resort for the holiday weekend — from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
The opening marks the longest season in 30 years at the resort.
There is plenty of snow on the slopes. There was 103 inches of snow at the base area and 137 inches at the summit Wednesday afternoon.
The resort will close for the summer after Memorial Day, so don’t let the chance for more skiing slide away.
