John Darby blogs from St. Paul - Wednesday

• Published September 03, 2008

EDITOR'S NOTE: Here is another report from Lacey Deputy Mayor John Darby, a delegate for John McCain at the Republican National Convention.

Handmade sign at convention: "We've struck oil with Sarah."

Her statement about Hockey Moms received a standing ovation: "The difference between a hockey mom & a pitbull is lipstick."

"Some politicians use change to promote their career while others use their career to promote change."

"Barack Obama & Joe Biden have been talking about fighting for you. Well folks, only one candidate has actually fought you!"

The overwhelming sentiment of the Convention is that Governor Palin hit a grad slam homerun!!!

Quote from Rose Strong, (mother of former Seahawks fullback Mack Strong): "You Go Girl!" - "That is one 'bad' girl."

One attendee commented that Joe Biden is no longer looking forward to the VP debate. Another commented that Joe probably wants the media to quit picking on her hoping, she won't eat him alive.

Executive director of the Washington Mainstream Republicans, Alex Hays, said: "Tonight Gov. Palin brought hope to every Amercian and every Republican while scaring the Hell out of Joe Biden!"

I could not be more impressed with Gov. Palin. I'm enthusiastically looking forward to the next 59 days of the campaign. I emailed my cousin in Anchorage. I asked him if he was sure they were ready to give up their governor. He replied, "That's our girl!"

My battery is about to die.
