The founding director of Washington’s Department of Early Learning is quitting her job in January and has plans to seek work in the nation’s capital.
Jone Bosworth took over the new agency in September 2006, shortly after it was created at the behest of Gov. Chris Gregoire and her Washington Learns task force.
“The five year plan is set. The vision and values are clear. It’s just a great time for me to make a change and have someone else step in,’’ Bosworth said by telephone today.
I'll have a short story in tomorrow's paper about the change. It comes on the heels of Fish and Wildlife director Jeff Koenings' announcement last night that he is leaving his post after 10 years.
