The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association named four South Sound fall sports teams as academic state champions Wednesday.
The Capital boys and girls cross country team had the highest grade-point average of all 3A cross country teams – 3.866 for the boys and 3.990 for the girls.
The Chehalis boys cross country team topped the 2A ranks at 3.860, and the Olympia girls swimming team had the top GPA in 4A at 3.794.
