North Thurston (6-3) at Seattle Prep (7-2), 5 p.m. Saturday, Seattle Memorial Stadium

Although the Rams have lost two of their final three games, they’re looking to advance to the first round of state since 2004, when they lost to Lynden, 28-21. Behind the 1,000-yard rusher in Lawyer Tillman and quarterback Jake Klumker, North Thurston put together a six-game winning streak and averaged close to 28 points per game. Seattle Prep is in its first state preliminary game this decade and is looking to make state for the first time since 1991. The Panthers feature the do-everything player, Nick Holt, Jr., the son of Washington defensive coordinator, Nick Holt. At 6-foot and 195 pounds, Holt Jr., had a TD run, a TD pass and two defensive scores with an 80-yard interception return for Prep’s final points in a 41-27 win last week over Eastside Catholic.
