Seahawks' Sims out up to six weeks

Gregg Bell

KIRKLAND — Seahawks right guard Rob Sims had arthroscopic surgery Tuesday on his right knee and will be off the field for up to six weeks, coach Mike Holmgren said.

Sims is the third Seattle starter to have surgery in the last few weeks, following defensive tackles Rocky Bernard (foot) and Marcus Tubbs (knee). Seven Seahawks surgeries are missing this week’s minicamp because of surgeries since January, including: defensive end Patrick Kerney and left tackle Walter Jones, both All-Pro players who had procedures on their shoulders, plus leading receiver Deion Branch (knee) and center Chris Spencer (shoulder).
