End of era: Seahawks release Richard Sherman

He’s gone. The Seahawks released superstar cornerback Richard Sherman on Friday after 117 games, 111 starts, seven seasons, four Pro Bowls, three All-Pro selections, two Super Bowls--and one of the most outspoken personalities in Seattle sports history. The move saves the only NFL team Sherman, who turns 30 this month, has known $11 million against this year’s salary cap.
