Thurston County: Grant money goes toward seat belt patrols

Law enforcement agencies recently received a $4,000 grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission to conduct additional seat-belt patrols. The funding is geared toward nighttime seat belt emphasis patrols from Friday through Nov. 8.

Participating in the patrols are the Lacey, Nisqually, Tenino, Yelm police departments, as well as the Washington State Patrol.

A seat belt ticket costs $124.
