THE OLYMPIAN |
Voters with visual impairments can use “AutoMARK” voting machines to mark their Nov. 3 voting selections in private, and the machines will be available in select Thurston County locations in the next week.
The machines will be available to use without appointments from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Intercity bus transfer station in downtown Olympia.
They also are available from at Cooper Point Village community center from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday. The center is at 4125 Capital Mall Drive S.W., in Olympia.
Voters without transportation can call the Thurston County Auditor’s Office at 360-786-5408 to arrange for a machine to be brought to them. Voters need their ballots with them to use the machines, which are designed to read and speak ballot choices to the voter; they also magnify the print and mark the ballot, allowing the voter to verify the ballot, provided it’s marked accurately.
