THURSTON COUNTY: Grants available for helping homeless

Certified nonprofit organizations that help the homeless are invited to apply for grant funding from the Washington State Department of Commerce.

A total of $699,101 is available to prevent people from becoming homeless or help those who are homeless.

Applications for funding under the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program can be picked up at the Thurston County Health Department, 412 Lilly Road N.E., Olympia or downloaded at www.co.thurston.wa.us .

An application workshop is set for 1 p.m. today in Conference Room 107C at the Health Department.
