THURSTON COUNTY

2 male sex offenders register as transients

The Thurston County Sheriff's Office is notifying the public that level II sex offenders Elton N. Hoard and Bradley E. Haberman have registered to live in the county as transients.

In 1996, Hoard was convicted in Thurston County Superior Court on one count of second-degree child rape. The conviction stems from Hoard, at 17, having consensual sex with a 12-year-old girl he knew.

Hoard is described as a black male, 5 feet, 10 inches and 205 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

On Nov. 16, 1999, Haberman pleaded guilty in Thurston County Superior Court of six counts of voyeurism and one count of possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The conviction stems from Haberman, at 38, secretly videotaping a female, age 20, while she was in the shower. As part of the investigation, a computer was taken into evidence and processed, which led to the finding of children's pictures.

Haberman is described as a white male, 5 feet, 8 inches and 190 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
