Homecoming

Air Force Reserve Senior Master Sgt. Sherry M. Jensen returned to Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, CA, after being deployed in Iraq. She is the daughter of Peggy Yates of Shelton and a 1980 graduate of Shelton High School.

Achievements

The following people have been appointed to the Thurston County Fair Board to help finalize the 2008 Thurston County Fair: Carleta Rawlings, Stephanie Murski and Ruby Adams.

Basic training

Army Pvt. Steven R. Mijanovich graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son and stepson of Dennis and Mary Ann Mijanovich of Shelton.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class John E. McGill graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is a 2005 graduate of Black Hills High School and the son of Cindy McGill of Lacey and Jack McGill of Tumwater.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Joel R. McGill graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is a 2007 graduate of Black Hills High School and the son of Cindy McGill of Lacey and Jack McGill of Tumwater.

Air Force Airman Quincy W. Robinson graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Anna Robinson of Beech Island, S.C., and Kevin Robinson of Lacey.

Deployment

Army Reserve Spec. Connie L. Keller is depoloyed in Iraq with the 205th Medical Company as a medical laboratory specialist. She is the sister of Terry R. DeLaughter of Lacey.
