Election party planned for Tabor

OLYMPIA — Thurston County Superior Court Judge Gary Tabor plans an election-night watch party Tuesday evening at the Governor Hotel's Washington Room, 621 Capitol Way, in Olympia.

The event starts at 7 p.m. Tabor is challenged by county prosecutor Ed Holm.

Gregoire to drum up support Saturday

OLYMPIA — Gov. Chris Gregoire and supporters plan to launch a major doorbelling effort in South Sound on Saturday.

Two shifts of volunteers are headed out from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 2 to 6 p.m.

Gregoire is kicking off the event at 9:30 at Thurston County Democrats' headquarters, 2120 Pacific Ave. Democrats will be calling voters Sunday, two days before primary ballots are due.

Gregoire and Republican Dino Rossi are expected to move on to the Nov. 4 general election ballot under the new top-two primary election format being used in the state this year.
