State Sen. Rasmussen plans yearly barbecue

EATONVILLE — State Sen. Marilyn Rasmussen plans her 23rd yearly barbecue and "corn feed" Saturday at the longtime Democrat's farm. It runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at 33419 Mountain Highway E. in Eatonville.

Auditor, author to speak at GOP event

LACEY — Kim Wyman, the Thurston County auditor, and Michael Reitz of Evergreen Freedom Foundation will be featured speakers at the Sept. 3 meeting of the Panorama Republicans. The event starts at 2 p.m. in Quinault auditorium, 1835 Circle Lane S.E., in Lacey.

Reitz has written a book titled "To Protect and Maintain Individual Rights."

Munros to hold event to back Sen. McCain

OLYMPIA — Ralph and Karen Munro will have a public event from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at their Triple Creek Farm west of Olympia to honor Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

McCain's state campaign leaders will be on hand to talk about the latest poll numbers and issues, and the campaign will solicit contributions for local campaign signs.
