City seeks applications to fill two positions
The city is looking to fill two posts after a week of resignation announcements by key officials, according to The Chronicle of Centralia.
City manager J.D. Fouts announced his resignation Sept. 8, five days after councilman Dan Keahey stepped down. Combined, the two had almost 30 years of experience working for Centralia.
Applications for the council position can be picked up at Centralia's City Hall. They will be accepted until 5 p.m. Sept. 30.
Fouts plans to stay on as city manager through the end of the year. The city's Human Resources Department has begun the process of finding a replacement. City officials hope to have a new city manager by early 2009.

Charges are pending against an Onalaska driver who rear-ended a 2008 Onalaska school bus Monday.
Roy A. Perkins, 48, was behind the school bus when the vehicles collided about 8 a.m. on westbound state Route 508. Traffic was blocked for about an hour.
The bus sustained about $10,000 damage. Perkins' 1989 Ford pickup was totalled, a Washington State Patrol news release says.
The driver of the bus, Kathleen L. Moseley, 58, of Napavine was not injured; nor were any students.
Perkins suffered hand and chest injuries, and was treated and released from Centralia Providence Hospital.
