Sex offender registers to live on 11th Avenue

The Olympia Police Department is notifying the public that Derrick Paul, a 35-year-old registered level 3 sex offender, is living in the 500 block of 11th Avenue Southeast.

A level 3 sex offender is the most serious sex offender designation, based on a subject's likelihood to reoffend. In July 2002, Paul pleaded guilty in Thurston County Superior Court to indecent liberties without forcible compulsion, residential burglary with sexual motivation, and two counts of burglary with sexual motivation. The conviction stems from Paul breaking into residences and peeping on the victims inside, or entering a fenced area and peeping on women inside their residences. Paul has a long history of predatory acts and at least two documented incidents where he entered a residence and sexually assaulted a female while she slept, police said.

Paul is described as a white male, 5 feet, 10 inches and 175 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
