Here's what city councils and other governing bodies plan in coming days:
Elma
The City Council meets on the first and third Mondays of each month at Elma City Hall, 202 W. Main St.

This week's agenda includes a request for city approval for volunteers to work on getting grants to start improvements at 10th Street Park.
Lacey
The City Council meets at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from January through October and the first and third Thursdays in November and December at City Hall, 420 College St. S.E. This week's agenda includes:
• Presentation of 2007 Best Olympic Region City Project Award from the state Department of Transportation to Lacey for Woodland Trail, Phase 1.
• 2009 proposed budget.
• Ordinance to approve 2009 water and stormwater rate increases.
• Approval of settlement agreement for acquisition of land and water rights at the former Olympia Brewery.
Last week's council meeting will be broadcast at noon Tuesday and this week's will be broadcast live, both on TCTV, Channel 3.
Mason County
The Board of Commissioners meets at 9 a.m. the first three Tuesdays of the month and 6 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of the month in commission chambers, 411 Fifth St. N., Shelton. For more information, call 360-427-9670, ext. 422.
This week's agenda includes:
• Approval to appoint Carolyn Malanowsky to the Mason County Housing Authority Board of Commissioners for a five-year term ending in November 2013.
• Approval to appoint Ida Sevier to the Lewis-Mason- Thurston Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council for a two-year term from January 2009 to January 2011.
• Approval of an agreement between Mason County and Saint David's Episcopal Church in the amount of $2,600 for operating expenses of the Emergency Cold Weather Shelter.
