OLYMPIA: Prepaid tuition workshop scheduled for Wednesday

Parents can learn more about Washington’s Guaranteed Education Tuition (GET) Program at a community information workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Pioneer Elementary School, 1655 Carlyon Ave. S.E., Olympia.

GET is a 529 prepaid tuition plan, where money saved now for college is guaranteed by state law to keep pace with tuition, no matter how much it rises in the future.

GET offers flexible savings options, as well as tax-free growth and withdrawals. GET units also can be used at nearly any college, university or vocational school in the country. Wednesday’s event is designed to help parents and grandparents understand how the program works.
