The Washington State Patrol estimated that about 350 people attended the “Tea Party” on the state Capitol steps Saturday.
The gathering coincided with events throughout the state and nation, including a major one in Washington, D.C. Olympia organizer Ken Morse said he aimed to have an educational event, rather than a protest.
Patrol Sgt. Mark Arras said a trooper on hand reported no problems.
Organizers of the event have posted video of the rally at their site, www.olympiateaparty.com.
The gathering marked the fourth Taxed Enough Already event at or near the state Capitol since an event April 15 drew 4,500 to 5,000 people.
