Timberline High School graduate and current Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart will be in Lacey on Wednesday and Thursday to host his fifth annual Jonathan Stewart ProCamp at South Sound Stadium.
The free camp is for boys and girls ages 7-18 and runs from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. both days.
The camp works with South Sound YMCA to provide camp scholarships to disadvantaged youth.
Stewart and some of the region’s high school football coaches will provide instruction.
Stewart, a 5-foot-10, 230-pound running back, became Washington’s all-time leading rusher with 7,775 yards his senior season at Timberline in 2004. He was drafted by the Panthers at No. 13 overall out of Oregon in 2008.
In six NFL seasons — all with Carolina —Stewart has rushed for 4,016 yards and scored 27 touchdowns, but played in only six games in 2013 because of ankle and knee injuries.
