Last week: Barracuda Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Montreaux Country Club, Reno, Nevada.
Fourth-round score: Plus-10 points in modified Stableford scoring.
Position: Gonzales (plus-43) finished in fourth place, four points behind winner J.J. Henry (plus-47).
Recap: The Capital High School graduate fell just short of matching his career-best finish, a tie for third at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba in November. But what he did Sunday did was solidify his standing for the FedEx Cup playoffs. (He was 115th in the standings before this tournament, and the top 125 qualify for the playoffs.) Five back-nine birdies, including a final one on a 15-foot putt on the 18th hole, fueled his final-round charge. It was his third top-10 finish this season — but his first since February.
