  • Moore cashes in hoops dream

Nick Moore is living the dream.

He’s just signed a one-year contract with the NBA’s developmental league and will be included in its November draft. It’s an impressive accomplishment for lanky forward who played two years at Evergreen State College.

He’s not particularly flashy. He’s not going to jump out of the gym. But he’s got all the tools. He’s a passer, shooter, rebounder and defender.

Later this month he’s headed to an invited tryout in Orlando for some scouts from the European leagues.

Part of the tryout process included interviews and written personality tests. Teams that are going to invest in a player want to know that they’re not signing a flake, someone who isn’t going to compete and be reliable. Moore not only has game, he’s also got the commitment to make it.

    He’s excited.

“The dream is very much alive,” Moore said. “I feel real good emotionally and physically. I have so much support from my family, coaches, and teammates.”
