From Gail Wood:
Can’t wait until the Seattle Seahawks season opener? Don’t worry.
Catch them at a celebrity softball game at Lacey’s Bucknell Park on June 7.
With Skyler Fulton of Olympia coordinating the event, the Bobby Engram Celebrity Softball Game will include at least 10 Seahawks.
Among the Seahawks scheduled to play are: Engram, Deion Branch, Marcus Trufaunt, Lofa Tatupu, Julian Peterson, Seneca Wallace, Jordan Babineaux, Kelly Jennings, Nate Burleson, Darryl Tapp, Logan Payne, Jordan Kent, Courtney Taylor and Ben Obomanu.
Spots on the team will be raffled off, giving Seahawk fans a chance to be teammate with the NFL players they watch on TV.
“Hopefully, the guys have a good time and the community has a good time and everyone wins,” Fulton said.
Tickets are $20 and seating is limited to 1,000 seats.
Proceeds will go to the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic and the Engram Foundation.
“My pitch to Bobby was that the Seahawk fans here are just as big of fans up there,” Fulton said.
Fulton is hoping the celebrity game becomes an annual event.
“It’s for a great cause,” Fulton said.
Tickets are available at Bucknell Park, online at athletesunlimitednw.com or by calling 1-800-838-3006.
