Coach: Sean Miller
Best win so far: A come-from-behind, 68-63 victory at then-No. 13 Gonzaga on Dec. 5.
Worst loss so far: Just one, and it wasn’t a bad one — a 69-65 loss to 12th-ranked Providence on Nov. 27 in the Wooden Legacy tournament semifinals.
Key player: Ryan Anderson, a 6-foot-9 senior transfer from Boston College, leads the team with 15.5 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. He shoots 53.8-percent from the field, 76.3-percent from the free-throw line and 40-percent from 3-point range.
Coach: Larry Krystkowiak
Best win so far: A Dec. 19 upset of then-No. 7 Duke, 77-75, in overtime at Madison Square Garden.
Worst loss so far: There’s no shame in losing to Miami — the Hurricanes are ranked 13th for a reason — but the Utes aren’t proud of the 90-66 drubbing they sustained on Nov. 20 in Puerto Rico.
Key player: Jakob Poeltl is one of the top big men in the country. The 7-foot sophomore from Austria averages 17.8 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, and shoots 71.2-percent from the field — a mark that leads the Pac-12.
Coach: Dana Altman

Coach: Steve Alford
Best win so far: The Bruins beat No. 1-ranked Kentucky, 87-77, at Pauley Pavilion on Dec. 3.
Worst loss so far: It doesn’t look so bad now, but the Bruins lost 84-81 in overtime at home to Monmouth in their season opener.
Key player: UCLA has five players who average double-figure scoring, but senior forward Tony Parker stands out for his rebounding skills — he grabs 10.3 per game, second-best in the league — and scores 13.8 points per game.
Coach: Tad Boyle
Best win so far: Colorado beat BYU, 92-83, at home on Dec. 12.
Worst loss so far: The Buffaloes don’t have a bad loss — just one to then-No. 7 Iowa State (68-62) and another to then-No. 18 SMU (70-66).
Key player: Josh Scott, the 6-foor-10 senior forward, averages 18.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
Coach: Cuonzo Martin
Best win so far: Cal is the only team so far this season to beat St. Mary’s. The Bears took a 63-59 win at home Dec. 12.
Worst loss so far: San Diego State beat the Bears, 72-58, on Nov. 26 at the Las Vegas Invitational.
Key player: For all the talk of Cal’s talented recruiting class, senior guard Tyrone Wallace still leads the team with 15.5 points per game — and he adds five rebounds and a team-best 4.4 assists per game, too.
Coach: Andy Enfield
Best win so far: The Trojans beat then-No. 20 Wichita State, 72-69, on a neutral floor on Nov. 26.
Worst loss so far: USC doesn’t have any terrible losses — the worst of its two was an 83-73 defeat to Monmouth on a neutral floor on Nov. 29.
Key player: The Trojans have six players who average double-figure scoring, but junior guard Katin Reinhardt leads the way with 13.8.

Key player: Tra Holder, the quick sophomore guard, leads the team with 14.5 points and 3.4 assists per game.
OREGON STATE (9-2)
Coach: Wayne Tinkle
Best win so far: The Beavers don’t have any great wins, but a 76-71 victory against Tulsa on Dec. 19 in Portland is probably their best.
Worst loss so far: OSU lost to Valparaiso, 63-57, at home Nov. 24.
Key player: Gary Payton II leads the team in scoring (16.8 points per game), rebounding (8.2 per game) assists (5.0 per game) and steals (2.5 per game), and has improved his field-goal percentage and 3-point shooting, too.

Coach: Johnny Dawkins
Best win so far: Probably a 69-66 win against Arkansas on a neutral floor Nov. 27.
Worst loss so far: Losing to St. Mary’s isn’t a big deal, but that’s still probably the Cardinal’s worst loss — a 78-61 beating on the road on Nov. 22.
Key player: Rosco Allen has stepped into a bigger scoring role and leads the team with 13.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Reid Travis, a sophomore forward, averages 12.8 points and 7.1 rebounds, but is out indefinitely because of a stress reaction in his leg.
WASHINGTON STATE (8-4)
Coach: Ernie Kent
Best win so far: No real good ones, but an 82-59 pasting of New Mexico on a neutral court was probably the best.
Worst loss so far: For the second consecutive season, WSU lost to Idaho, this time 78-74 in Moscow.
Key player: Junior forward Josh Hawkinson remains one of the league’s most productive big men — he averages 16.5 points and leads the Pac-12 with 10.5 rebounds per game.
