Gonzaga up to fifth in AP men's basketball poll

Gonzaga moved up four spots to fifth in The Associated Press' men's basketball poll released Monday.

The Bulldogs (5-0) won three games against major-college programs last week, beating Oklahoma State 83-71 and Maryland 81-59 before defeating then-No. 12 Tennessee 83-74 on Sunday to win the Old Spice Classic.

North Carolina (7-0) remained a unanimous No. 1, followed by Connecticut, Pittsburgh and Duke.

The Big East had a record eight teams in the poll: UConn, Pitt, No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 11 Louisville, No. 16 Syracuse, No. 17 Villanova, No. 20 Georgetown and No. 25 Marquette.
