Stacy Lewis persevered through more 100-degrees-plus heat to shoot a 3-under 69 at the Kraft Nabisco Championship on Friday, opening a three-stroke lead over Yani Tseng, Brittany Lincicome and Jane Park at Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Michelle Wie shot a 67, matching the day’s best round and moving into contention for her first major title, six shots back. Tseng, the defending champion, shot a 68, while first-round co-leader Lincicome mustered a 72.
PGA Tour rookie Chris Kirk shot a 3-under 69 for a one-stroke lead over defending champion Anthony Kim and 2008 winner Johnson Wagner after two rounds at the Houston Open. Kirk was 9-under par. Kim (64) shot the lowest round of the day, and Wagner had a 67. Olympia’s Andres Gonzales shot 8-over 80, for 152 total, and missed the cut. ...
