TENINO - Dani Wall scored 10 of her team-high 16 points in a four-minute span in the fourth quarter to help Tenino pull away in a 60-34 win over Toledo in the opening round of the Class 1A District IV girls basketball tournament Monday night.
As the No. 4 seed from the Southwest 1A Evergreen Division, the Beavers (9-10 overall) advance to face LaCenter (15-5), champion of the Trico Division, on Friday night. Time and place are to be determined.
Tenino outscored the visiting Indians, 17-4, in the final four minutes and pushed its lead to 55-33 with 1:41 remaining after a basket by Wall.
Tumwater 60, Chehalis 45: The Thunderbirds (16-3) earned the No. 2 seed from the Evergreen Conference and avenged an earlier loss to the Bearcats.
Tumwater will host Washougal, the No. 3 seed from the 2A Greater St. Helens League, at 7 p.m. Friday.
Chehalis (15-5), the No. 3 seed, plays at second-seeded Mark Morris at 7 p.m. Friday.
Tumwater led by double-digits much of the game, but a 7-0 Chehalis run in the third quarter cut the lead to 39-30 with 1:20 to go in the quarter.
Jordyn Richardson led all scorers with 19 points for the T-Birds, while Mackenzie Cooper had 14 points and Haley Vandenhazel had 11.
“This one really feels good,” Tumwater coach Dave Littleton said.
Black Hills 74, Centralia 62: The Wolves (4-16) trailed by three at halftime, but got their biggest win of the season thanks to a big second half.

River Ridge 85, Aberdeen 27: Four River Ridge players scored in double figures – led by Jasmine McDonald’s 23 points – as the Hawks wrapped up the Evergreen Conference schedule undefeated.
The Hawks (17-3) will host fourth-seeded North Thurston at 7 p.m. Friday in the opening round of the 2A District IV tournament.
