TACOMA - Capital was taught an important lesson Thursday night after its 3-3 tie with Wilson in a 3A Narrows League boys soccer game.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re up three (goals), you got to keep doing the right stuff,” Capital coach Tom Boatright said afterward.
Nate Boatright scored two goals and Jacob Zimmerman added a third for all of Capital’s scoring in the first half. The league-leading Cougars (6-0-2) had a three-goal edge before the Rams fought back with a goal near the end for the first half and one at the start of the second half to make it 3-2. With about 20 minutes to go, Wilson struck again to tie it up.
Boatright said his team had multiple golden opportunities to win it, but couldn’t find the back of the net.
“I was pleased with the boys,” Boatright said. “I thought they played very well at times. We need to be in good games, and they were in a good game.”
Yelm 5, Foss 2: The Tornados got goals from Daniel Gonzalez (two), Alejandro Cisneros, Louis Pintado and Sebastian Meneses to earn their second 3A Narrows League win.
