The Gig Harbor Tides defeated the Olympia Bears 39-32 in a 4A Narrows league match-up that was held at Gig Harbor High School.
After a low scoring first quarter where the Bears shut the Tides out the Tides came to life. They outscored the Bears 16-5 during the third period to bring life into a low scoring, defensive battle.
Sydney Bertholf was the games leading scorer with 14, Maddie Willett also had 11 in the win.
South Kitsap 51, Yelm 40: After trading the lead in the first and second quarters the Wolves took command of the game in the second half, outscoring the Tornados 26-18 to seal an 11-point 4A Narrows league victory.
Libby Borgonia was the games leading scorer as she downed 17 points for the Wolves.
Wilson 69: Central Kitsap 34: The top-two leading scorers for the State of Washington combined to score 30 points in a 35-point victory over the Cougars-- a 3A Narrows League opponent.
The Rams dynamic duo: Josie Matz scored nine while Kiki Knox scored 21 and was the games leading scorer.
Bellarmine Prep 79, Timberline 44: The Lions started their 32-point victory on a 26-8 run during the first quarter. Senior McKenzie Alton was the leading scorer for the Lions with 21 points, Jayana Ervin scored 14,
The Blazers were led by Sara Bowen, who scored 18.
Lincoln 59, Capital 25: Tamia Braggs continued her dominance on the court as she torched the Cougars, scoring 25 points in a 34-point blowout.
The Cougars did not score more than 8 points in a quarter in Wednesday's loss.
North Thurston 70, Foss 25: The Rams outscored the Falcons 16-4 in the fourth quarter and ended up defeating them by 45 points.
Freshman Brooklyn Harn led all scorers with 16 points for the Rams, Lauren Bailey had 14 and Elana Fairchild chipped in with 10.
Mount Tahoma 59, Shelton 56: Freshman Destin Hicks-Armstrong registered a double-double: 11 points, 10 rebounds during the T-Birds three-point victory over the High Climbers.
Despite being outscored 21-18 during the fourth the T-Birds held on to get a tough league win on their home court. Jalil Massey also scored 11 for Mount Tahoma.
Olympia 51, Gig Harbor 40: David Woodward — a 6-foot-3 senior forward — was the leading scorer for the Bears with 12 points. The Bears (15-2, 8-1 Narrows) jumped out to a 16-9 lead during the first quarter and didn't budge, holding the lead until the final buzzer sounded.
Despite the nine-point loss, the Tides (6-12, 2-8 Narrows) were led by the games leading scorer, Sam Gagliardi, who had 22 on the night.
Lincoln 62, Capital 49: Willie Thomas — a 6-foot-5 sophomore forward — was the games' leading scorer with 14 points. Thomas was the only Abe to reach double-digit points in the 13-point victory over the Cougars.
Bellarmine Prep 76, Timberline 53: Malachi Flynn was the games leading scorer with 23 as the Lions route the Blazers, defeating them by 23 in a 4A Narrows league match-up.
The Blazers kept it tight through three, they headed into the fourth quarter down 52-42. The Lions went on to finish the game 24-11 in the fourth quarter, demolishing the Blazers hopes for a victory. Senior Austin Curry scored 19 for the Blazers.
Kentwood 53, Jefferson 15: Andy Sandhu (120), Jorge Santos (145), Trenton Harris (195), and Yonas Meshesha (285) all won in pinning fashion for the Conquerors as they defeated the Raiders by 38.
Auburn Mountainview 38, Peninsula 21: Antonio Correa defeated Tre Starks 7-1 in the 285 pound eight class to secure a 17-point victory for the Lions There were eight forfeits in this match-up.
Orting 48, White River 22: The Cardinals won the last eight matches and defeated the Hornets by 26 points. Ben Gore started the Cardinal run by defeating Jack Irvin 13-5 in the 152 pound weight class. Hunter Mullins fished off the match with a one minute 15 second pin over Jason Jorgeson for the Cardinals.
