Alex Weber-Brader came off the bench and scored all eight of his points in the second half, helping Seattle Pacific defeat Central Washington University, 85-78, in the semifinals of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference men’s basketball tournament Friday at Saint Martin’s University.

Big day of offense boosts Bears' morale
Olympia needed a bounce-back win in a big way. After a loss to Gig Harbor on Friday that ended on a walk-off home run - in a game the Bears led by as many as five runs - a win was needed to boost the players’ confidence.

Tennis supplants soccer as sport of choice for OrchardKatelyn Orchard was certain she was going to become the next Mia Hamm. After all, the Olympia High School junior was in a family where soccer, baseball and basketball were the sports of choice. Then, in 2004, she and her family moved into their current Olympia home, which featured a large, tempting feature: a backyard tennis court.
